An SFF-related post

Strange Horizons, an SFF online magazine, lists the kind of stories they see too often. It can serve as a rough guide, if nothing else.

[info]sea_sff is a community for Southeast Asian SFF fans, and the sister community at DW is fen_at_sea.

I remember reading that list... Gives really good idea about what should be avoided while writing if you want to create something original.

Sometimes using a well-known formula is good too, if we use new and creative ways. (Shounen action manga anyone?) But yes, it is useful to know what readers and editors might be tired of seeing.
